Feldenkrais Method
(Or FM) is a way to improve body awareness and physical ability.
Most of us accept that there is a healing quality to deep listening – Much as a psychotherapist listens in a way that is informed by professional knowledge and experience, and by so doing teaches you to listen to yourself.
In Feldenkrais Method, rather than listening to words, tone, facial expression etc., you would dive into the finer details of how you move: is it easy? Is it smooth? Is the sense of grounding pleasant and clear? And so on.
*
In the short term – feel good, relax, enjoy pain relief.
In the long term – get to know your body and your self, develop movement patterns that suit you, grow your confidence to explore and experiment independently.

Benefits
Move in a smooth and pleasant way, with soft and easy posture.
-
Ease pain and injury by developing new movement patterns. -
Release stress and tension. This too may ease chronic pain. -
Learn to listen to yourself, on and off the mat: when is effort necessary, and when is comfort better? -
Understand movement in its most minute detail: especially suited to dancers, musicians, manual therapists etc. -
Don’t do it because you have to – learn to love to move!
Shai Komarov
I participated in my first Yoga teacher training course in 2013, but it was only several years and one undergraduate degree later that I took a desk job at Studio Naim in Tel Aviv. This turned out to be a major crossroads in my life: I was able to try out different disciplines and practices – Ballet, Osho style meditation, classical fitness training and more.
Most didn’t stick, but I really took to freeform and Contact Improvisation (dancing for the first time in my life!). However, my one true love turned out to be Feldenkrais Method: it combines intellect and intuition in a way that is a perfect fit for me, and has become the main lens through which I view the world.
Rather than a series of movements, FM is a set of principles which are applicable in any situation. I hope to help every one of you accomplish your own goals in your own way: The more "you" you are, the more rewarding the practice.
I am currently based in Haifa, and offer online classes too. Besides my work as an FM practitioner, I am also a writer, performer, and occasional musician. These fields constantly combine and overlap – ask me more!

Let's Do It
There are two kinds of FM classes - group sessions, where instruction is primarily verbal; and one-on one sessions, which may include physical contact and manual manipulation.
Also, check the schedule for upcoming workshops, retreats and events.
